Reading Recovery Ongoing Professional Learning 2018

on Monday, 01. January 2018 - 09:00

Reading Recovery: Ongoing Professional Learning is for trained Reading Recovery teachers implementing Reading Recovery in a school setting.  Reading Recovery teachers are required to participate in a minimum of six Ongoing Professional Learning sessions with a Reading Recovery Tutor and colleagues throughout the year, in order to build their capacity to design and deliver daily lessons tailored to the specific needs of individual children. Ongoing Professional Learning enables teachers to design optimal learning opportunities for children with diverse needs and ensures that the hardest-to-teach children have the most-skilled teachers. Trained Reading Recovery teachers also learn from Reading Recovery Tutor and colleague visits that involve lesson observations and collaborative discussion of teaching decisions in a school setting.

Dates and venues will be available following the close of registrations on Friday, December 8, 2017.

Reading Recovery Inservice Course 2018

on Monday, 01. January 2018 - 09:30

The Reading Recovery Inservice Course is for teachers training as Reading Recovery teachers.

The sessions are facilitated at a location as near as possible to the schools choosing to train a new Reading Recovery teacher.  The Reading Recovery Inservice Course is facilitated across a full school year.

Following intensive training to learn to administer, score and interpret the Observation Survey of Early Literacy Achievement, the teachers actively participate in fortnightly sessions, while applying their learning by teaching children individually on a daily basis.  Reading Recovery teachers work only part of the school day in one-to-one Reading Recovery lessons. Their professional development also benefits their work in other settings (e.g. classrooms, small groups, literacy leaders and coaches).

Dates and venues will be available following the close of registrations on Friday, December 8, 2017.
