WHO TO SEND: Parents, teachers, school leaders and Family Community Engagement Teams interested In strengthening Family Community Engagement to improve student learning outcomes. 

WHAT: Learn the essential elements of enhancing Family Community Engagement in schools and how to formulate Family Community Engagement Action Plans.  This day builds on Debbie’s visit to Sandhurst in 2017 and will also act as an entry point for new school personnel and participants.

PRESENTER: Debbie Pushor is a professor in Department of Curriculum Studies at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. In her program of research, Debbie researched parent knowledge, parent engagement and leadership. In her undergraduate and graduate teaching, Debbie highlights an often absent or underrepresented conversation about the role of parents in relation to school communities.

Pastoral Wellbeing Behaviour Framework Implementation Network Day

The Behaviour Framework Implementation (BFI) Network is designed to support schools form effective, functional teams to systematically lead their school communities in implementing a school wide behaviour framework that, in the long term, will be fully embedded, maintained and durable.

Presenters: Pastoral Wellbeing Team, CEO Sandhurst & (SWPBS) SOLE Team, St Augustine's College Kyabram

Attendees: Members of primary and secondary schools' behaviour framework implementation or review teams (PBIS/SWPBS) and school staff interested in, or exploring the possibility of forming, or intending to form an implementation group.

This is the term one network day. Further days are planned and will require separate registrations: Term two - 4 June, Term three - 21 August, Term four - 7 November

Sandhurst Arts on Show Network Day

This Professional Development Day is for all Sandhurst Primary and Secondary Teachers of Performing Arts and Teachers interested in being involved to support students with participation in Sandhurst Arts on Show. The day's program will cover material for all the elements of choral, dance and drama and provide an overview of the structure and content on offer throughout the three day Sandhurst Arts on Show festival. Getting involved is easy, as a3 Australian Arts Alive staff will provie teachers with excellent support, resources and fun engaging activities to get the year started. 

Networking with colleagues from across the Diocese will also prove beneficial for all involved.

Why Critical Incident Training?

In the aftermath of a serious event, schools are commonly overwhelmed by the strong emotional responses of the school community. A well trained Critical Incident Management Team can enhance a school's capacity to respond to a difficult event, moving towards stabilisation and order, in a sensitive and pastoral way.

Who to Send:

FIRST WAVE - Staff who will lead a critical incident response in your school, e.g. principal, deputy principal

SECOND WAVE AND BEYOND - Those staff who will support the leader of the response including new members of leadership teams.
