  • You will be supported to become accredited to Teach in a Catholic School within the first 5 years of beginning teaching in a Catholic school in Victoria. This is particularly helpful if you are not Catholic and or have not worked in a Catholic school context before. Accreditation involves completing 25 hours of professional learning activities within five years of being employed and then maintaining this accreditation by completing 25 hours of professional learning and formation activities in each five-year period following the initial gaining of Level 1 Accreditation.
  • You will also be supported to become accredited to Teach Religious Education within the first five years of beginning teaching in a Catholic school in Victoria. This is particularly helpful as it will empower you to embed the Catholic story into the Victorian curriculum. Accreditation involves formal assessed study in Religious Education, Theology and or Catholic Leadership and then maintaining this accreditation by completing 50 hours of professional learning and formation activities in each five -year period following the initial gaining of Level 2 Accreditation.
  • Dedicated Learning Support Officers are available in your school to assist with learner diverse students as required.
  • What financial benefits can Catholic Education provide you?

    • You will receive a competitive starting salary of $77,248 and can access progression of up to $114,591 plus 11% superannuation as classroom teacher.
    • You will receive a 1% position allowance lump sum payment in December of each year which is calculated from your annual rate.
    • You will receive a Graduate Teacher lump sum payment in your second year of teaching up to $859.
    • You will have access to portability of long service leave from one Catholic school to another within Australia
    • You will have access to portability of personal leave from one Catholic school to another within Victoria
    • You will have the opportunity to apply for positions of leadership which attract significant annual allowances.
    • You will enjoy the benefits of improved working conditions under our Enterprise Agreement including reduction in scheduled class time, greater time in lieu provisions and increases to parental leave.
    • You will have the ability to take one day off per year as flexible leave.
