Catholic Sandhurst Education Ltd are thrilled to announce the launch of Magnify Sandhurst, a transformative learning and teaching program rolled out to 51 Catholic schools across the Sandhurst Diocese. This new learning and teaching program aims to significantly enhance the learning experience for students and provide teachers with the tools they need to deliver an evidence-based curriculum that boosts student outcomes.
Magnify Sandhurst is not just about teaching what students learn, but how they learn. The program focuses on creating structured, well-planned lessons that emphasise deeper, more meaningful teaching methods. This proven way of learning will significantly improve essential skills such as reading, writing and math, setting students up for success in the years ahead.
As Amy Eade, a teacher at St Joseph’s Primary School in Rochester, explains, “Everyone’s going to be on the same page. We can focus on how we’re teaching it, not what we’re teaching, making sure we’re really getting deep into (students) knowledge.”
With the support of world-class educational partners like Steplab, LME Global, Knowledge Society, MultiLit, and Ochre Education, Magnify Sandhurst is an investment in the future of every child in all 51 schools. With the mantra, 'Every student, every teacher, every school, every day’, the program is designed to create a learning environment that challenges and supports students, helping them reach their full potential.
What makes Magnify Sandhurst special?
Magnify Sandhurst is about consistency and clarity. Shaun Mason, Principal of FCJ College Benalla, shares his excitement about the changes:“Students are going to see really clear routines and clear structures when they come into every single classroom. Doing that across every school, every primary and secondary setting in Sandhurst, students are going to see consistency — consistency of approach and follow-up. And that’s going to be a game-changer for the way they go about their business in classrooms.”
Kendall Aglinskas, School Improvement Leader at Catholic Education Sandhurst says "Magnify Sandhurst is courageous, bold and acknowledges the need for continual adaption and growth to ensure that we are providing all learners across the diocese with the best chance of success."
Calm classrooms and positive learning environments
With clear expectations and routines in every classroom, students will experience a calm and consistent learning environment.
Ben Fitzpatrick, School Improvement Leader from Catholic Education Sandhurst, hopes that by implementing a safe and welcoming environment, every student will have the best opportunity to focus, learn and grow.
“I would really love for the young people in our schools to be able to feel like they're safe because the school is familiar. The routines on each day in each class from each teacher are really familiar so they feel that this is a place that they can go and flourish to their potential, because the school is so well supported and the staff are well resourced, and that it's consistent right across the board.”
The importance of consistency and resources
Magnify Sandhurst introduces a “low variance” curriculum, meaning that all students will experience similar lessons and structures, regardless of where they are in the Sandhurst diocese. This ensures that students always know what to expect, which creates a stable and predictable learning environment.
There will also be new and exciting resources to support learning. Sarah Iddles, Principal of St Joseph’s Primary School Cobram, highlights the program’s global impact.
“The national and international resources that are being poured into Magnify are the best in the world right now. Our students are in the best position to be in Catholic education right now as Magnify rolls out across Sandhurst.”
Teachers will also benefit from additional support in the form of coaching to help them adopt new teaching methods. By working together, teachers will be able to create classrooms that are both supportive and engaging for students.

What’s next?
Magnify Sandhurst will be rolled out across the region over the next three years, from 2025 to 2027. Each phase is carefully designed to bring measurable improvements to the learning experience, ensuring that all students benefit from this exciting new approach to education.
We are incredibly excited about what the future holds for our schools, teachers and, most importantly, our students. Magnify Sandhurst is more than just a program — it’s a step toward transforming the way we approach learning and teaching in Catholic schools across the region.
